Only a few hours to work today, thought I would try to knock out some of the spindles. I had some 2-1/8″x3/4″x8′ pieces that were perfect for these. I trimmed off the 1/8″ from the rough side, cut them down to 48″, and ran them through the planer just to clean up the faces. Next I planed and cut to size (20) 2″x2″x1/2″ spacers. Once those were done, I moved over to the router table and rounded the edges of the long boards. All but the ends on the inside faces. I then glued all the mating faces and assembled them with brad nails. Finally I dropped the router, with a round over bit installed, into the 1/2″ slot to finish rounding the inner groove. I thought I was all done for the evening until I counted my spindles… I needed ten but only made nine. Oops! Oh well, 20 minutes later I had ten… Next will be sanding then drilling out the ends for the 3/4″ dowels…
