Midnight Woodworking

Woodworking

Day 2 – Sacristy cabinet

Today I finished glueing the side panels as well as the top and the shelves. The ambo panels will be separated by 10-1/2″ tall and 1/4″ thick dividers. I only have 6-3/8″ & 4-3/8″ wide boards that are 7/8″ thick before planing. I glued (5) 6-3/8″ pieces to (5) 4-3/8″ pieces to get 5 boards that were over 10-1/2″ wide. After they dried overnight, I resawed them to approximately 3/8″ thick boards that I planed down to 1/4″ thick. I also finished up planing all of the other boards for the assembly. The next step will be to cut all of the glued-up panels down to the proper size and scrape off all of the glue that squeezed out during clamping.
