More pub chairs – day 14

I am applying the second coat this evening. The chairs have dried from the first coat and there aren’t many dust nibs. The tung oil finish went on pretty smooth. Instead of sanding down the first coat, I just give them a quick rub down with a brown paper bag. It has a similar function to a fine grain sandpaper at this stage, but without all the dust that I would have to clean up before the next coat went on. I noticed how much the grain popped with the oil applied. These chairs will really look nice as a finished set.
