12′ Cherry Conference room table – day 8

I applied the first two coats of wipe-on poly yesterday, so I added the last two coats today.

Most of the surfaces were vertical, so very little dust landed on the urethane before it dried. I still sanded the surface down between each coat, using a Scotch-brite pad. It takes down the dust nibs without creating too much dust.

After I added the fourth coat, I took a few pictures to try to capture the beautiful grain that was in some of these boards.

I love the way the feet turned out, everything just flows.

The trim around the tops had some very pretty swirly grain as well.

Now that everything is done, I will let it set for a few days for the polyurethane and contact cement fumes to dissipate, then try to deliver the table this weekend. It takes up the entire shop and Adam wants to get back to his bench without crawling under my projects…

Adam and I hope everyone has a very Peaceful and Merry Christmas.
